BARNEGAT, NJ – In an attempt to find their “forever home”, newlyweds Gary and Nancy looked at many communities in southern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania before eventually finding their perfect match at Escapes Ocean Breeze, an active adult community in Manahawkin by Paramount Homes. “We loved the architectural designs of the homes and the community’s close proximity to LBI,” the couple said.

For those who are interested in purchasing a new home at an active adult community, Nancy and Gary offer the following advice: “Think about the type of home you want and do a little bit of research since there are so many choices involved in the process (i.e., kitchen cabinets, flooring, carpeting, fireplaces, etc.). We visited the Design Center many times before sitting down and picking out our final selections. We loved the process here at Escapes.”

Gary and Nancy moved to Escapes in September 2015 after selecting the single-level Andalucia model. The home features 1,866 sq. ft. of living space and an open concept kitchen looking into the great room. Gary and Nancy also chose the option of an extended garage with a staircase to the full attic for additional storage. “We really wanted a two-bedroom, two-bath home with a separate office, open floor plan and a covered porch,” Gary said. “The Andalucia has it all! Plus, we feel so fortunate to be surrounded by such wonderful neighbors.”

Looking to the future, Gary and Nancy will celebrate their full retirement in the next few years. “We can’t wait to take advantage of all the activities and events available here at Escapes,” Nancy said. “In fact, we have been so pleased with this community that my younger sister and brother-in-law plan on building their own ‘forever home’ here at Escapes in five years.”
